Nu Gamma Psi, originally known as “The Hit Squad”, was founded in 1993 at Francis Lewis High School by Kevin McIntosh, Sakina Kaleak, and Tara Spivey-Williams. Grounded in the African tradition of stepping, NGP first began as a group of students looking to bring their love of stepping to the school and local community through performances and competitions. Nearly 25 years later, Nu Gamma Psi is known throughout New York City as a championship competition team with various accolades and accomplishments both on and off the stage.

Members of Nu Gamma Psi have gone on to college, become members of fraternities and sororities, and achieved great success in their respected careers. While these achievements are truly remarkable, what has always remained is the fact that Nu Gamma Psi is a family, and a key contribution to the team’s longevity and success is the ongoing support provided by alumni to its current members. As we prepare to mark the 25th anniversary of the team, we invite all alumni, family, friends, and supporters of Nu Gamma Psi to celebrate this special occasion.
